PURCHASER AGREES TO THE FOLLOWING
1. Össur accepts no responsibility for any injury which might occur while
using Össur knee bracing products.With use of this type of device, it
is possible to receive various types of skin irritation, including rashes
and pressure points. If the brace causes discomfort or any unusual
reactions, discontinue use and contact your health care provider
immediately.
2. If you have any questions as to how this knee brace applies to your
own specific knee condition, consult your health care provider.
3. This brace is not intended to be used in moderate or high activity
and/or impact sports. If you do not agree to the above conditions,
contact your brace provider before using this product.
BRACE APPLICATION
1. Unfasten all straps on the front of the brace (A, C, E, G)
Note:
Do not
adjust the back calf strap (J).
2. With the leg in full extension, place the brace on the leg and place the
hinge (D) at the center of the knee, as per clinician’s instructions
(Figure 2)
.
Note:
Ensure that the cable covers are not wedged between
the hinge and knee but floating freely external to the hinge. Check on
both sides of the knee.
3. Position the shin pad (F) over the shin.
4. While holding frame in place, fasten the upper shin strap (E) by
inserting it through the d-ring
(Figure 3)
.
5. Then fasten the lower shin strap (G) by inserting it through the d-ring.
6. Next, snugly fasten the upper thigh strap (A)
(Figure 4)
.
7. Snugly tighten the lower thigh liner strap (C)
(Figure 5)
.
BRACE MAINTENANCE
The brace is designed for minimum maintenance and care. Follow these
easy maintenance steps to keep your brace in good condition.
CLEANING
• Liners, straps and pads may be removed for cleaning.
• Do not machine wash.
• Hand-wash in luke warm water (30°C) using mild non-detergent soap
• Rinse thoroughly
• Do not place in dryer. Only air-dry.
• If migration occurs, clean silicone liners with an alcohol wipe or damp
cloth. If brace is used in salt water or chlorinated water, rinse well and
air dry.
HINGE MAINTENANCE
• Do not disassemble the hinge
• Check regularly for foreign materials in hinge (i. e. dirt or grass)
• Carefully clean dirt from hinge and cable cover using water or
compressed air
• Lubricate with lithium grease
