Precautions for use
This section covers limitations and requirements the user should
consider when using the product.
•
Motor excitation at power ON
The motor is excited when the 24 VDC and main power is on. If the
motor is required to be in non-excitation status when turning on the
power, assign the C-ON input to the direct I/O or network I/O. In
this case, the motor will be excited when turning the C-ON input ON.
Refer to the USER MANUAL for details.
•
Preventing leakage current
Stray capacitance exists between the driver’s current-carrying line
and other current-carrying lines, the earth and the actuator,
respectively.
A high-frequency current may leak out through such capacitance,
having a detrimental effect on the surrounding equipment. The
actual leakage current depends on the driver’s switching frequency,
the length of wiring between the driver and actuator, and so on.
When providing a leakage current breaker, use the following
products, for instance, which have high-frequency signal protection:
Mitsubishi Electric Corporation: NV series
Fuji Electric FA Components & Systems Co., Ltd.: EG and SG
series
•
Preventing electrical noise
See the USER MANUAL for measures with regard to noise.
•
Saving data to the non-volatile memory
Do not turn off the 24 VDC power supply while writing the data to
the non-volatile memory, and also do not turn off within 5 seconds
after the completion of writing the data. Doing so may abort the data
write and cause an EEPROM error alarm to generate.
The non-volatile memory can be rewritten approximately 100,000
times.
•
If vertical drive (gravitational operation) such as elevator
applications is performed or if sudden start-stop operation of
a large inertial load is repeated frequently, connect an
accessory regeneration unit RGB100 (sold separately).
The overvoltage alarm will generate depending on the operating
condition. When the overvoltage alarm has generated, review the
operating conditions or connect the regeneration unit
RGB100
.
•
Do not perform push-motion operation with the
DG
Ⅱ
Series.
Doing so may result in damage to the motor or gear part.
•
When performing sensorless return-to-home operation
upward in a vertical direction with the
EAS4
type (ball screw
lead 12 mm), keep the load mass to be less than 4 kg.
If the load mass is 4 kg or more, the actuator cannot push up to the
position of the mechanical stopper, causing irregularity in the
stopping accuracy of return-to-home.
