If there is a problem
Malfunctions can occur on all electrical appliances. Thereby, it is not necessarily
a defect on the appliance. Therefore, using the table, check to see whether the
malfunction can be rectified.

Fan and lighting do not
function.

connected to the mains.
Check the connection of the mains plug. Use
another electrical appliance and check the
socket. Check the house fuse.
Lighting does not function.
Incandescent lamp
defective.
Replace incandescent lamp (page 18).
Odours are no longer
sufficiently removed/ weak
flow of air.
The filters are
contaminated.
Replace grease filter and/or carbon filter (see
page 16/17).
Motor stops after a few
minutes
The appliance is overheated
and the internal safety
switch has activated.
The appliance does not get sufficient supply
air (see below).
Poor performance of
the extraction hood in
extraction mode
The hood has insufficient air The hood has a very large quantity of exhaust

provided, e.g. by non-closing apertures in

Oil drops from the appliance Grease filter is

Buzzing noise
Foreign object in the fan.
Call the service technician (page 21).

Never attempt to repair the defective – or supposedly defective –
appliance yourself. There is a risk to yourself and other users. Only
authorized specialists must carry out these repairs.
