Creating Form A
INFORMATION
Only for drills with a strong core as well as for large drill diameters for drilling into solid
material. Other settings, or the creation of Form A on small drills is not possible, not
necessary and also not useful.
ATTENTION!
Before starting work, you must define, adjust and test the desired setting.
The size of the cross cutting edge is adjusted by changing the position of the plate. Turning the
adjusting screw increases or decreases the inclination of the plate. The eccentric screw is used
to determine the thickness of the cross cutting edge.
Img.4-7:
Adjustment for reduction of the cross cutting edge
INFORMATION
To reduce the cross cutting edge the drill is not "necessarily" turned in the opening,
often it isjust enough - especially in using of small drills - a simple put it into. Turning to
reduce the cross cutting edge - especially with the problems as described
the spiral drill“ on page 52 may damage the cross cutting edge.
Switch on the drill bit grinder.
Slowly insert the clamping chuck in the opening in order to reduce the cross cutting edge.
By turning the clamping chuck one side of the cross cutting edge is being reduced.
ATTENTION!
Do not turn the collet chuck holder but only turn the clamping chuck otherwise the spiral
drill would get loose in the collet chuck.
Pull out the clamping chuck and turn the clamping chuck by a half turn ( 180°) in order to
reduce the other side of the cross cutting edge.
