TROUBLESHOOTING SECS/GEM RS232 COMMUNICATION
Use the following procedure to troubleshoot GEM communication
problems on system initialization. The Integra GEM interface
connection with the host system occurs during the cleaner’s boot
sequence. The default parameters for the connection are set in the
CONTROL STATE DEFAULT PARAMETERS section of the
GEM
CONFIGURATION
(Set-up) screen. When a system properly initializes,
the following parameters should display for a system configured at
the factory to run GEM.
The following troubleshooting procedures only apply to the OnTrak
cleaner, not the GEM host.
GEM Control
Signals
1 GEM Control Signals - If GEM fails to initialize during system
boot-up, then the GEM Control Signals are not properly set or an
equipment failure has occurred. On initialization the default
states are used and override manual settings. Access the
GEM
CONFIGURATION
(Set-up) screen and verify/set the CONTROL
STATE DEFAULT PARAMETERS states:
Initial Control State:
set to ONLINE,
Initial Comm State:
set to ENABLE,
Online Substates:
set to REMOTE.
