OPERATION
1
To prevent loud switching noise, first switch on the connected signal sources.
2
Prior to the first switching on of the speaker system, turn down the
MASTER LEVEL
control or all
LEVEL
controls (depending on the model) to the left stop position to avoid a high volume at the
beginning. Then switch on the speaker system with the power switch. The
POWER
indicator lights up.
3
Adjust the desired volume ratio with the
MIC
and
LINE
LEVEL
controls of the microphone channel and
the line input and match the overall volume with the
MASTER LEVEL
or
SUB LEVEL
control as
required. Only turn up the controls to such an extent that the sound reproduction will not be distorted. In
case of overload the
CLIP
or
LIMIT
LED lights up. If this indicator lights up frequently, reduce the
volume of the input signals accordingly.
4
Adjust the high and low frequencies in the main mix with the equalizer controls
HIGH
and
LOW
. On the
subwoofers, it is possible to switch on a bass boost with the
SHAPE
selector switch.
5
If a subwoofer and a top speaker are operated in parallel via the subwoofer’s line output, frequency
separation can be adjusted via the respective control. By doing this, the efficiency between top speaker
and subwoofer can be balanced.
6
If multiple speakers are operated in parallel, phase displacement between the speakers can lead to
performance and output problems. To compensate this, the phase of each speaker can be adjusted
exactly from 0° up to 180° with the
PHASE
control.
7
If an interfering hum noise can be heard without a music signal, a ground loop may be the reason for
this. The
ground lift
selector switch on the subwoofers allows for interrupting the ground loop for the
signal input and the humming should be eliminated. For this purpose engage the selector switch. Thus
signal ground and housing ground are separated.
8
When operating the speaker system, please make sure that the loudspeakers always sound well. When
distortions can be heard, either the amplifier or the loudspeakers are overloaded. Overloads can quickly
lead to amplifier or speaker damage. In order to avoid damage, please reduce the volume immediately
when distortions can be heard. When speaker systems are destroyed by overload, the guarantee
becomes void. Always check the sound pressure level with a meter in order to keep to the threshold.
9
After operation, set the
MASTER LEVEL
control or all
LEVEL
controls (depending on the model) to the
left stop position, then switch off the unit with the power switch. The power indicator extinguishes.
