Security Config(uration)
Under the Security Configuration screen you can assign what submenus may be accessed at password Levels 1 and
2, the lesser security levels. The Level 3 security level is the Master security level, and ALL submenus and functions
may be accessed at that level.
Important Note:
Be sure to click
Save Changes
before exiting this menu or any changes made will not take effect!
The
“Stealth Mode When Locked”
option
causes the processing bargraph gain reduction
metering to stop and the selected preset name to
be hidden from view when the Omnia is locked.
The
“Enable Auto Lock”
option causes the unit
to be automatically locked whenever the screen
saver activates.
The
“Authenticate Lesser Security”
option
gives the user the ability to have the Omnia
prompt for passwords regardless of which
direction the security level is being changed.

NTP
The Omnia now has the NTP (Network Time Protocol) function built in to enable it to retrieve the time of day from
an external source and keep the Omnia’s clock set very accurately over the long term. Both long and short term
timekeeping are enhanced by this feature. With NTP time, the Omnia’s clock can be accurate to a few fractions of a
second. Accurate sources of network time within the United States can be found at:
http://www.boulder.nist.gov/timefreq/service/time-servers.html
.
A list of potentially useful International NTP servers can be found at:
http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~mills/ntp/clock1a.html
We’re sorry, but we cannot vouch for the availability and absolute accuracy of the International NTP sites.
No matter what source you use, be sure to set the UTC offset to be correct for your particular time zone!
To enable the NTP function: Enter a valid NTP IP address and your correct local time zone offset (from UTC) in the
boxes and click the
Save and Update
button. If the Omnia can reach the NTP Time Server that you have selected, a
dialog should pop up with confirmation that Omnia Time was successfully synchronized to NTP server time. If it
cannot reach the NTP server, an error (Error: No response from NTP Server) will be displayed to notify you of this
fact.
To disable the NTP function: Simply clear the IP address box and click the Save and Update button.
