TOOLS REQUIRED
:
1.
Drill, electric or ratchet drive with 1-1/4"
wood bit (to drill an access hole in the
cabinet or kitchen wall for the electric power
line)
2.
1/4" metal drill bit
3.
One 3/8" nut driver (to secure hood mount-
ing screws to the cabinet and hood sheet
metal parts)
4.
Pliers (for opening knockouts)
5.
Pencil, ruler and level for marking cabinet
locations
6.
Saber saw or keyhole saw for cutting the
wall or cabinet openings
7.
Straight blade screwdriver and Phillips head
screwdriver
INSTALLATION OF EXHAUST UNIT
:
1.
Remove packaging material from inside the
blower unit.
2.
Remove control knobs by pulling straight off
and set exhaust unit into opening in installed
metal liner (refer to liner instructions) by tip-
ping forward to allow control knob stems to
clear metal liner. Line up mounting holes
and fasten in place using (4) 1-/24 x 1/2"
bolts and nuts supplied.
3.
Replace control knobs.
4.
Cut out additional opening in wall and roof
as required.
5.
Remove junction box cover from exhaust
unit.
6.
Pull wiring through cutout in wall. Feed wir-
ing through access hole in junction box and
connect per wiring diagram.
7.
If a ducted installation, install 3 1/4" x 10"
damper to top of unit. If ductless, remove
blade from damper and use the remain-
ing collar and supplied screws to assist
in mounting plenum to power unit. Install
and align duct. The ducting system is not
included with your Exhaust Unit. These
items must be purchased separately.
8.
Make electrical connections according to
the latest National Electrical Code and appli-
cable local ordinances.
9.
Replace junction cover.
10.
Seal holes around ventilating pipe and wir-
ing passing through ceilings or walls with
caulking or insulation to prevent air loss.
11.
Replace blower housing and filters.
12.
Install decorative range hood cover.

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF A RANGE
TOP GREASE FIRE: 1) Never leave surface units unat-
tended at high settings. Boilovers cause smoking and greasy
spillovers that may ignite. Heat oils slowly on low or medium
settings. 2) Always turn hood ON when cooking at high heat
or when cooking flaming foods. 3) Clean ventilating fans fre-
quently. Grease should not be allowed to accumulate on fan or
filter. 4) Use proper pan size. Always use cookware appropriate
for the size of the surface element.

PERSONS IN THE EVENT OF A RANGE TOP GREASE
FIRE, OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING: SMOTHER FLAMES
with a close fitting lid, cookie sheet, or metal tray, then turn
off the burner. BE CAREFUL TO PREVENT BURNS. If the
flames do not go out immediately, EVACUATE AND CALL
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. NEVER PICK UP A FLAMING
PAN YOU MAY BE BURNED. Do not use water, INCLUDING
WET DISHCLOTHS OR TOWELS - A VIOLENT STEAM
EXPLOSION WILL RESULT. Use an extinguisher ONLY if: 1)
You know you have a class ABC extinguisher, and you already
know how to operate it. 2) The fire is small and contained in the
area where it started. 3) The fire department is being called. 4)
You can fight the fire with your back to an exit.
