3 Pre-observation/pre-operation preparation and inspection
Attaching the tripod adapter
Attach the tripod adapter to the instrument to use a tripod to
do observations.
Perform the following steps to install the tripod adapter.

Check the orientation of the tripod adapter (as
shown in the illustration on the right).

Screw the screw on the tripod adapter into the
screw hole on the strap holder to attach it.

Screw the screw into the tripod hole on the
tripod adapter to attach it.
Securing the insertion tube to move the instrument to another
location
The insertion tube can be coiled with the insertion tube fastening belt when moving the instrument
to another observation location.
After coiling the insertion tube, wrap it with the insertion tube fastening belt near the insert tube
bend stopper.
Transport the instrument by holding the main unit or by hanging it from the strap.
Stow the instrument in its carrying case when moving or transporting it over long distances.
CAUTION
•
Never dangle the instrument from the insertion tube to moving it.
•
After stowing the instrument in its carrying case for transport, check to make sure that the carrying case
cover is closed.
