To operate the scanner
1.
Clip the scanner onto the pipe to be inspected:
a)
Pull the probes open by hand (see Figure 2-28 on page 44).

Once the probes are engaging the pipe, simply push the scanner onto the
pipe.
Do not swing the probes open further than required as this could inadvertently
reposition the probe holders so that the spring loading required for proper probe-to-
pipe contact is lost.
