1. Test Condition setup – In order for the function to
produce an accurate result, set switches
according to the table below:

2. Launch a loopback or diagnostics testing program
and follow the instructions given. Typically, the
instructions will be similar to the following:
a.
Enter the number of test messages (frame
packets) to be sent (Between 1 – 1000)
b.
Click on the START button
c.
The program will send a testing message
looped in the fiber segment, and display a
pass/fail result
Warning
Be sure to deactivate both local and remote both loopback
test functions for normal converter operations
NOTE: On a PC, use a program such as Sniffer to conduct the
tests. Other methods include the use of SmartBits
series testing equipment. If you do not have access to
either method, please contact your vendor for advice.
