The ambient temp eratures, power supply voltages and power ratings indicated below concern protection against
explosion. These parameters are not measurement data: refer to the technical characteristics table.
§
Zones of use:
-
Version OLCT 80 d : the equipment is authorised for use in zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 for ambient
temperatures between -25°C and +70°C with a temperature class of T5 / T100°C, or T6 / T85°C.
-
Version OLCT 80 fitted with sensor OLCT IR M25 : the equipment is designed for zones 1, 2, 21 and
22 for ambient temp eratures of -25°C to +70°C with a temperature class of T4 / T135°C.
-
Version OLCT 80 fitted with sensor OLCT IR E :
§
the equipment is designed for zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 for ambient temperatures of -20°C to
+65 °C with a temperature class of T4 / T135°C;
§
the equipment is designed for zones 1 and 2 for ambient temperatures of -25°C to +65 °C
with a temperature class of T4 / T135°C.
-
Version OLCT 80 id :
§
the equipment is designed for zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 for ambient temperatures of -25°C to
+70°C with a temperature class of T4 / T135°C.
§
in the intrinsically-safe remote sensor block version (only toxic gases and O2): the sensor
block is designed for zones 0, 1, 2, 20, 21 and 22 for ambient temperatures of -25°C to
+55°C with a temperature class of T4 / T135°C.
§
Installation:
-
Installation must be carried out according to prevailing standards, especially standards EN 60079-14,
EN 60079-17, EN 50281-1-2.
-
For version OLCT80 fitted with the OLCT IR detector, the detector must always be secured
horizontally so that the arrow on the OLCT IR protective cover points upwards.
-
Cable inlet: the cable inlet has a protection factor of IP 66 as per EN 60 529 and is appropriate for the
operating temperature. If another cable inlet is fitted, it must comply with the characteris tics set out
above.
-
Cable temperature: the cable must withstand an ambient operating temperature of at least 85°C.
§
Wiring / Connection:
Wiring must comply with prevailing regulations for facilities in explosive atmospheres (see previous
paragraph). The cables must have mechanical protection.
If the cables connected to the relay outputs carry a peak voltage of more than 30 V, the wires inside them
must have 1 mm of insulation and their live parts must be at least 6 mm from the other components of the
detector.
The maximum voltage on the power supply connectors and RS485 digital network connectors must be no
more than 40 V peak.
§
Earth connection:
The detector must be connected to earth via the external or internal earth connection with corrosion
protection.
§
Dust-laden atmospheres:
The user must clean the equipment regularly to avoid the build -up of dust on its surfaces.
If the OLCT80 is connected to an OLCT IR, the optical surfaces of the OLCT IR part must only be cleaned
if there is optical disturbance (see Maintenance section for the OLCT IR).
