apparatus which causes the operation of this modem
or associated call set-up equipment to contravene the
requirements of the standard against which these
facsimile transceivers have been approved.
All apparatus connected to this facsimile transceiver
and thereby connected directly or indirectly to the
British Telecom PSTN must be approved apparatus as
defined in Section 22 (10) of the British
Telecommunications Act 1984.
Storage of Telephone Numbers
In order to prevent the mis-direction of calls and
network interference please ensure that all manually
programmed telephone numbers are correctly entered.
Warning:
Interconnection directly, or by way of other
apparatus, of ports marked “Safety warning.” See
instructions for use, with ports marked or not so
marked, may produce hazardous conditions on the
Network.
Advice should be obtained from a competent engineer
before such a connection is made. The exchange line
must provide facilities for either loop disconnect of
multi-frequence dialling. Always ensure this apparatus
is disconnected from the PSTN before the main
connection is broken. The connection to the Network
must not be hardware.
This apparatus is also approved for use as an extension
to compatible PBX’s. For further information consult
your supplier for an up-to-date list.
When this apparatus is to be used in FAX/TEL change-
over mode, care must be taken to ensure that you only
connect this apparatus to telephone lines not listed in
telephone directories issued by the Public Telephone
Network Operators. The telephone numbers of this
apparatus should not be issued to other parties without
instructions concerning the correct method of making
calls to this apparatus.
The voltage drop introduced by the apparatus between
the PSTN and the associated telephone at a current of
40 mA d.c. is 2.Q volts therefore no additional series
equipment may be connected.
The second telephone or answering machine must be
connected to the TEL 2 jack by means of the two-way
adaptor provided.
