Troubleshooting

Cause
Action
The quick coupler cannot be locked.
The pressure in the hydraulic system is
too low to lock the quick coupler.
Check the pressure in the lock
circuit. If it is too low, check the lock
valve function.
If the valve is working properly, the
excavator must be the cause.
Opening bar of the dirt guard
is missing. The Dirt guard is
pressing against male connectors.
Install a new dirt guard opening bar.
One or more male connectors are no
longer in the correct position and do
not mate with the female connectors.
Check the attachment as described in
section 11. Correct the hose position
and replace
defective parts, if necessary.
The quick coupler cannot be
unlocked
The pressure in the hydraulic system is
too low to unlock the quick coupler.
Check the pressure in the lock
circuit. If it is too low, check the lock
valve function. If the valve is working
properly, the excavator must be the
cause.
One of the two pilot-controlled check
valves on the H-cylinder is defective and
does not open.
Contact OilQuick customer
service.
Pressure control valve is defective.
Oil leak in a quick coupling when an
attachment is connected.
The seal is missing or defective.
Replace the seal as described in
section 14.
The quick coupling is dirty or
defective.
Clean the quick coupling or mount a
new one as described in section 14.
Oil leak in a quick coupling.
The quick coupling is dirty or
defective.
Clean the quick coupling or mount a
new one as described in section 14.
Malfunction in an attachment's
hydraulic system.
Pressure and/or oil flow from
excavator to attachment is too low.
Check as described in the excavator
manual or contact the excavator sup-

Fault in the attachment's hydraulic
and/or electrical system.

attachment supplier.

quick coupler and attachment.
Check the wiring and electrical
contacts.
Repair or replace defective parts.
