2.1.2 General Safety Guidelines for Operating
Personnel
∙
Always use the personal safety equipment made avail­
able to you, such as
protective glasses, ear protection,
safety helmet, safety gloves, protective clothing
∙
Please wear closely fitting proper work clothes. Do not
wear jewelry. Protect long hair with a hairnet.
∙
Please wear shoes or boots with non‐slip soles.
∙
Always make sure that you have a firm and secure foot­
hold.
∙
Do not use machine parts as climbing aids. When work­
ing in elevated locations, always use safety‐tested climb­
ing aids and operating platforms.
∙
Do not operate the line while under the influence of alco­
hol, drugs, or medicine with comparable effects.
∙
Keep your work area neat. Lack of order will increase the
risk of accidents.
∙
Please be fully alert to any danger while staying in the
hazardous line / machine area.
∙
Only perform work for which you are authorized and for
which you have been properly trained.
∙
Do not allow unauthorized individuals to enter the line /
machine area.
2.1.3 General Safety Guidelines for the Operation of
the Line / Machine
∙
Please use only suitable auxiliary equipment to operate
the line / machine.
∙
For proper disassembly and assembly, use Barmag
erection aids and tools.
∙
Use only suitable lifting devices. Prior to lifting the equip­
ment, check weight, location of the center of gravity, and
fastening points.
Also observe the special instructions in Chapters
“Assembly” and “Disassembly”.
