QUICK START
MAKE THE UNIT READY—CHECK THE FOLLOWING
There are new cylinders by removing and checking for an intact seal.
The green cocked line is showing above the coking knob.
Turn the unit on.
Check battery is above 20% for normal weather and above 50% for ops in freezing conditions.
Set the mode and triggers for the specific operation. You can preset these because the unit remembers
its last setting—set the mode by leaving the desired screen visible, change the time, depth or green light
setting by pressing the SET button.
SETTING THE ACTUATOR FOR DIFFERENT OPERATIONS
Immediate surface inflation:
Protection from falling into the water when you want immediate inflation—
use
AUtO Mode.
Delayed surface inflation:
Protection from falling into shallow water when you want a short delay for self
rescue, for example falling off the boat into the water—use
dELy Mode
. Also, set the time you want to be
in the water before the vest inflates—use
t 0:00.
Setting to t 0:15 gives you 15 seconds in the water
before the vest inflates.
Sinking too deep, or for too long inflation:
Protection from falling into deep water when you want
protection from sinking too deep or from being held down too long—use
Sub Mode
. When you fall or
plunge into the water and go deeper than 1 meter, the time and depth triggers become active—use
t 0:00
to set the maximum
time
under 1 meter and use
d-000
for the maximum
depth
. Exceeding EITHER trigger time or depth causes inflation.
Excessive depth protection:
When you are in shallow scuba or rebreather ops and you want
protection from sinking too deep—use
ScbA Mode.
Only the depth trigger is used. Set it using the
t 0:00
screen. If you exceed the trigger depth setting, the vest will inflate.
USING THE REMOTE WIRE AND BUTTON
You can cause immediate inflation by pressing the button 4 times rapidly or by simply yanking on the
remote wire.
SWITCH MODES:
In either
AUtO Mode
or
Sub Mode,
you can change between these two modes on
the fly by pressing the remote button for 4 seconds or more. Pressing the button for a second or two tells
you if the unit is on and which mode it is in—blink for
AUtO Mode,
and steady for
Sub Mode.
PAUSE THE OPERATION:
In either
dELy Mode
or
ScbA Mode,
pressing the remote button pauses
operations for one minute. After 45 seconds the remote light will start to blink, warning you the operation
will resume. You can press the button again to add another one-minute delay at any time. The pause
stops the time and depth sensors allowing you to temporarily halt the time and depth protection. Useful
for deep insertion or in an sinking overturned helicopter when you want more time to exit.
