Caution
Your usual breath hold time may be cut in half by factors such as , but not limited
to, your physical condition, the surface interval from your last dive, the depth of the dive, and
the amount of work during the dive, as well as a host of other factors. Consider this carefully
when you set your maximum time and depth triggers.
THE REMOTE SWITCH: The remote operates differently depending on the mode setting, but in all
cases, pressing the button 4 times rapidly causes inflation. When the actuator is in Auto (Immersion) or
Sub (Dive) modes, pressing the remote for a second tells the user which mode he is in—blinking for Auto
mode, solid light for Sub mode. A longer 7-second press toggles to the other mode—between Auto and
Sub.
When the actuator has been set to ScbA (Scuba) or dELy (Delay) modes, pressing the remote will cause
a one-minute suspension of the actuator as explained in the following diagram.
DIAGRAM OF FOUR OPERATIONAL MODES
AUTO (IMMERSION)
Sub (DIVE )
ScbA (SCUBA)
dELy (DELAY)
Vest fires immediately
upon immersion. For
example, falling into the
water will cause
immediate inflation.
Vest fires when EITHER
the trigger time, or the
trigger depth is
exceeded—they are
independent. For
example, staying down
too long OR going too
deep will fire the vest.
Regardless of the
depth, once you exceed
the trigger time, the vest
fires.
Vest fires ONLY when
the trigger depth is
exceeded. Diver may
stay submerged
indefinitely. For
example, for shallow-
water dive operations
when the maximum
depth set is exceeded,
the vest will fire.
Vest fires upon
immersion (falling into
the water), but only
AFTER the trigger time
is exceeded. For
example, the delay
allows the user to get
back out of the water for
the duration of the delay
time set. Exceeding the
delay time fires the
vest. Getting out of the
water resets the delay.
OPERATION OF THE REMOTE HAND
SWITCH IN
AUTO
OR
SUB
MODES
SHORT BUTTON PRESS: This tells you
what mode you are in: blinking is auto mode,
solid light is Sub (dive) mode.
LONG BUTTON PRESS (7SEC): This
switches the actuator from one mode to the
other. Sub to Auto, or Auto to Sub.
OPERATION OF THE REMOTE HAND
SWITCH IN
SCUBA
OR
DELAY
MODES
Pressing the remote button temporarily
deactivates the actuator for one minute.
The remote light stays solid for 45-seconds
then blinks for the last 15 seconds. This
operation may be repeated indefinitely. In
ScbA mode, the deactivation of the actuator
function is useful when a deep water
insertion occurs where the insertion depth
exceeds the trigger depth. In the dELy
(Delay) mode, this adds another minute to
the delay setting and resets the delay time to
the original after the suspension, for
example, to allow the user to escape a
sinking helicopter.
