Place a check in the checkboxes of functions you want to use.
Temporary ............. Document data is stored temporarily on the hard disk of the
printer. This can increase the speed of printing for those jobs
which involve multiple copy sets. Be aware that the document
data will be erased if the printer is turned off.
Permanent ............. Document data is permanently stored on the hard disk of the
printer. If you designate a job name and user name for a print
job under the “Custom” setting, it will be easier to find and
select that particular job in the Job list. Document data will not
be erased even if the printer is turned off.
Virtual Mail Box
(VMB) .................... Document data is stored in a virtual mailbox within the hard
disk of the printer and can be printed out whenever necessary
using the operation panel. Up to 255 virtual mailboxes can be
created. Document data will not be erased even if the printer is
turned off.
Quick Copy ............ This mode stores documents on the printer’s hard disk so that
you can make additional copies from the printer operation
panel without going through the PC.
Proof and Hold ...... This mode prints out only one copy of a multiple-copy print job
so that you can check the content and quality of the printout
first. Then, if there are no problems, you can print out the
remaining copies from the printer operation panel.
Private Print ........... This mode requires a password to print data. This helps
maintain confidentiality with shared printers. In this mode, the
password is input and printing is done from the printer
operation panel.
Job Storage ........... This mode stores documents on the printer’s hard disk so that
you can print out copies whenever needed. The document is
retained on the hard disk even when power to the printer is
turned OFF. Printing is done from the printer operation panel
after inputting a password. This mode is convenient for often
used formats.

If you selected [Private Print] or [Job Storage], input a password in the [Access
Code] field. This password can be any 4-digit number from 0000 to 9999. You will
need to input this password from the printer operation panel in order to print out.
Even if you selected “Job Storage” however, there are times when it may not be
absolutely necessary to enter the password.
