There are several major hazards to personnel: 

  Ultraviolet light or non-ionizing radiation exposure 

 Lamp 

explosion 

  Electrical shock  

  UV Burn Hazard 

  Heat Burn Hazard 

 
 

There is also a hazard to the equipment: 

  Risk of damage to the light source during handling and shipping 

 
 
 

3.1  HAZARDS TO PERSONNEL 

 

Personnel using the SOLAR SIMULATOR should be aware of the hazards that 
stem from the SOLAR SIMULATOR.  This section of the manual describes 
precautions that help avoid personal injury while using the equipment.  Also, be 
sure to read the Section entitled, SYSTEM INTERLOCKS.
