Hygiene Hint
Newborns do not have high resistance to
pathogenic germs. It is therefore, essential
that all feeding appliances be thoroughly
cleaned and then disinfected. Even minor
amounts of food residue on teats and bottles
may cause pathogenic germs.
Cleaning teats and bottles
Items for disinfection should be thoroughly
cleaned beforehand. This is very important as
the disinfection process is only effective with
items that have been cleaned.
We recommend the following:
•
Thoroughly rinse all parts after each meal.
•
Sprinkle and rub inside and outside of the
teat with salt. Rinse again. Press some water
through the feeding hole to clean.
Disinfection in general
Do not immerse the unit in water or fill com-
pletely with water. Remove the plug and wait
until the unit has cooled-down.
Attention!
For reasons of hygiene and to prevent lime
scale deposits developing on the heating plate
the appliance must be cleaned after every use.
The inside of the sterilizer only needs to be
wiped with a damp cloth. The surface of the
evaporator dish can be damaged if cleaning or
scouring agents are used.
Nevertheless, hard water can lead to lime
scale developing. Although these deposits are
harmless they should be removed, since exces-
sive incrustations can impair the operation of
the appliance.
Please remove such deposits as follows:
Pour approx. 60 ml of diluted vinegar (in a ratio
of 1:4 with 1 part of vinegar to 4 parts of
water) into the evaporator dish and leave it to
soak for around
1
/
2
hour. Then wipe the dish
dry with a tea towel.
No other special care or maintenance is requi-
red by the appliance.
