For a half filled basket (200 - 250 g of food),
reduce the specified water volume by one
level (e.g. for a half filled basket of potatoes,
add water up to level 2, rather than up to the
specified level max.).
* The numbers on the water tank level gauge
represent levels 1, 2 and max (max = 210
ml)
** The steam cooking time can vary. It is
based on the water volume in the water
tank.
3. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
3.1 CLEANING
The removable parts must be cleaned
thoroughly before first use and after each
subsequent use. The device must first be
disconnected from the power supply. Allow
it to cool down before you begin cleaning.
To descale the device, proceed as
described in section 3.2.
Risk of electric shock! An electric
current passes through the base unit
during operation. Never immerse the
appliance in water.
Always allow the appliance to cool
down before cleaning.
Clean the base unit with a damp sponge or
cloth. Dry it with a lint-free cloth.
Do not clean the base unit in the
dishwasher.
Clean the removable parts in the dishwasher
or using a damp sponge or cloth in
conjunction with a detergent solution.
When cleaning the device, do not use
scourers, abrasive cleaners or
aggressive liquids such as benzine or
acetone.
To clean the hot steam duct in the lid, we
recommend that you occasionally rinse the
lid under running water directly after use. If
the duct cover should become blocked, it
can be removed from the lid (Figure 15). The
duct cover should then be replaced in the lid
after cleaning and drying.
After cleaning and drying, ensure that
a blade and the seal are correctly re-
installed.
Note:
See section 2.2.1 for instructions on
fitting the blades.
3.2 DESCALING
Over time and depending on the water qua-
lity, limescale deposits may form at the bot-
tom of the water tank. You should descale
your device as soon as these appear, but at
the latest every 20 heating cycles. This is
necessary in order to prevent limescale par-
ticles blocking the hot steam ducts and to
ensure correct heating of the water.
Before descaling your device, ensure that it
is switched off and disconnected from the
power supply.
You should descale your device at regular
intervals, depending on the water hardness
in your region. To do so, fill the water tank
with 100 ml of table vinegar followed by 100
ml of boiling water. Allow the solution to
work for a maximum of 30 minutes (ensure
that the mains plug is disconnected). Empty
the water tank over the side, as shown in
Figure 16. Rinse out the tank with fresh
water. Ensure that no liquid enters the base
unit when filling and emptying the water
tank.
