– The extension lead must not be laid
"freely”: it must be secured so as to pre-
vent accidents and must be kept out of
the reach of children.
– The extension lead must on no account
be damaged.
– No other equipment should be plugged
into the socket at the same time, as this
will overload the mains supply (i.e. no
multi-pin sockets to be used!).
4.4 For Your Child’s Safety
Warning! Children often do not
recognise danger
and can therefore
sustain injury. For this reason please
observe the following:
•
This product may only be used under super-
vision from adults, in order to ensure that
children do not play with the device.
•
Always ensure that the device is kept out of
the reach of children.
•
Always ensure that children are never able
to pull on the cable.
•
Always ensure that the plastic packaging
does not pose a fatal risk to children.
Packaging is not meant as a toy.
4.5 Handling Batteries
•
The battery must be removed when flat or
if the hygro-thermometer is not going to be
used for a prolonged period. A leaking
battery might otherwise damage the
instrument.
•
Do not dispose of flat batteries with
household waste. Take them to a battery
collection point.
•
Take care to insert the battery with the
correct polarity (+/–).
•
Batteries should never be charged or
thrown on a fire - risk of explosion.
•
Use only the quoted battery type (AG13,
1.5V).
5. Unpack and Set Up Appliance
5.1 Humidifier
1. Take the individual parts out of the
packaging.
2. Check that the individual parts are complete
(see section 3.2 on page 5) and undamaged.
3. Clean the appliance thoroughly before using
it for the first time (see section 7. on
page 9).
Important:
A new appliance may smell a
little if it is not cleaned beforehand.
4. Before switching the humidifier on, put it in
the room where it is to be operated for half
an hour.
This is intended to ensure that the
humidifier is at the same temperature as the
room, which will make it function more
accurately.
5. Place the appliance on a level, dry, non-slip
surface.
5.2 Hygro-thermometer (Moisture
and Temperature Measuring
Instrument)
Measuring range for humidity: 20% to 99%
Measuring range for temperature: –10°C to
+50°C or 14°F to 122°F.
Important:
The hygro-thermometer must be
calibrated before being used for the first time.
Prolonged use in an overheated room with dry
air may likewise impair the sensitive parts of the
instrument, requiring it to be recalibrated. To do
this, wrap the appliance in a damp cloth for an
hour. This increases moisture to a maximum.
The instrument is recalibrated and operational
(again).
