will warm up and may read a temperature
that is too low when checking for fever.
The device is intended for indoor use,
where possible, try to avoid using the
thermometer outdoors. External influences,
such as the wind and outdoor temperature,
may have an impact on the measurement.
If the temperature
taken by the
thermometer exceeds
or equals 37.5 °C
(99.5 °F), a red light
will appear in the
probe head to warn
the user of a possible fever. If the
temperature taken is below 37.5 °C
(99.5 °F), a green light will appear.
The person who is having their temperature
taken should avoid any fluctuating ambient
temperatures for at least 5 minutes before
the measurement. Also avoid any strenuous
physical activity or taking a bath for at least
30 minutes before the measurement.
The temperature of a healthy person may
differ by 0.2 - 1.0 °C / 0.4 - 1.8 °F between
the temple and the ear
5.3 Measurement in the ear
Note:
The mode "Taking the temperature at
the ear" is the standard mode after
switching on the device.
Take the temperature a total of three times
from the same ear. If the results differ, take
for safety the highest temperature value.
1. Press the Standby (ON/MEM) button
to
switch on the device.
The adjacent symbol will appear
in the LCD display
and you will
hear two beeps.
2. Remove the cover
head
(see figure
C
).
3. Gently pull back the ear to lessen the
bend of the ear canal (see figure
D
).
