Matrix Installation and Operation Instructions

13.0 CONTROL SETUP
The Matrix uses two devices to control the functions required by the Matrix. The Matrix Boiler Control (red face)
controls and ensures the safe operation of the boiler functions of the Matrix, much the same as the Sentry 2100
does in the Trinity products. The Matrix Fan Control (blue face) controls all of the operation functions related to
air handling and hot water dispatching. The fan controller controls the forced air modulation, ventilation, as well
as priority of domestic hot water and secondary heating systems.
The Matrix boiler control (Sentry) is different from the Sentry controller used in any other
NTI product, and is NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. Using the incorrect boiler control will
result in incorrect boiler operation.

Matrix Boiler Control
(Red Face Plate) – The Matrix Boiler Control communicates to the user what is
happening in the system by using a 7-segment LED display and a series of LED indicators; see Table 13-1.
Matrix Fan Control
(Blue Face Plate) – The Matrix Fan Control communicates to the user what is happening in
the system by using a 7-segment LED display and a series of LED indicators; see Table 13-2.

may still be a call for forced air heat even when
thermostat is satisfied (off).
Hydronic Demand
Indicates a call for hydronic heat
DHW Demand
Indicates a call for domestic hot water
Boiler Temp
When illuminated, display is showing boiler water
temperature
Boiler Setpoint
When illuminated, display is showing boiler water
set point
Air Temp
When illuminated, display is showing outdoor
temperature
Gas Input Value
When illuminated, display is showing current gas
input value.
