This Multi-TID topology provides an active-active RAID storage solution for
single host systems with one Fibre port.
It offers advantages of lower initial costs, redundant active-active controllers, and
transparent failover and failback operations.
It has several disadvantages including performance limited bandwidth due to the
single Fibre loop, the host, host HBA and Fibre loop are single points of failure.
In this configuration the Host I/O card switches 4 and 5 are set to the “Up”
position.
Switch 4 ties the H0 and H1 ports to the same Fibre loop. This allows both host
port on each Host I/O card with an active connection to the specific controller
host port.
Switch 5 ties the port H0 on the right Host I/O card to H0 port on the left Host
I/O card. This allows both controller host ports to be seen on any of the Host I/O
cards ports.
