3.2
Connecting the Power Cable
ADS devices support both the AC power supply and DC power supply. For detailed
descriptions of these power supplies, see section
. The following sections
describe how to connect the power supplies.
3.2.1
AC Power Supply
Connect the AC power cable as follows:
Step 1
Ensure that the ADS device is integrated with the AC power module.
Step 2
Plug one end of the vendor-supplied power cable into the power socket on the rear panel of
the ADS device.
Step 3
Plug the other end of the power cable into the power socket of the power mains.
Step 4
Turn the power switch to 1 (or pull the power switch of each board to the left for ADS NX5-
10000) to turn on the power module.
On ADS NX5-10000, the power switch, after being pulled left, will immediately flip
back to the original position.
Step 5
Check the status of the power LED on the front panel of the ADS device.

3.2.2
DC Power Supply
Connect the DC power cable as follows:
Step 1
Ensure that the DC power module is built in the ADS device. The DC power module contains
a plug and a socket. The plug is included in the accessory box and the socket is integrated in
the chassis.
Step 2
Take out the DC power cable from the accessory box.
Step 3
Connect the U-shaped connector of the black wire of the power cable to the anode of the ADS
device power socket and the other end to the anode of the power module provided by the user.
Connect the U-shaped connector of the red wire of the power cable to the cathode of the ADS
device power socket and the other end to the cathode of the power module provided by the
user. Ensure that the two wires are properly connected.
To implement power redundancy (two power modules), repeat
connect another power cable.
