Anti-Spam (MailScanner)
MailScanner scans all e-mail for viruses, spam, and attacks against your network’s security. After
the install is complete, no additional configuration is necessary. Be sure to install GroupWise
®
and
ClamAV before installing MailScanner.
IMPORTANT:
If you want to install Groupwise and MailScanner on the same server, use the
Add/
Remove
function to add MailScanner only after Groupwise is installed. Adding these two
applications simultaneously at the initial installation might cause the Groupwise install to fail.

13.1 Installing MailScanner Basic
Use the basic install when GroupWise is already installed on the same server as MailScanner.

Add/Remove
under
Components
, then select
All
. Scroll down to
Anti-Spam
(MailScanner)
and click
Install.

Basic
, then click
Next
.

Review the settings. To make a change, click
Back
. To proceed with the installation, click
Next
.

The MailScanner basic installation is complete. Click
Finish
to proceed to the available
software page. MailScanner is now listed on the installed software list and can be administered
from the
MailScanner
administration link.
13.2 Installing MailScanner Advanced
Use the advanced install when GroupWise is installed on a server separate from MailScanner.

Add/Remove

Components

. Scroll down to
Anti-Spam
(MailScanner)

Install.

Advanced

Next
.

Specify SMTP Relay Host settings, then click
Next
.

Review the settings. To make a change, click
Back
. To proceed with the installation, click

The MailScanner advanced installation is complete. Click

to proceed to the available
software page. MailScanner is now listed on the installed software list and can be administered
from the
MailScanner
administration link.
