LDAP Admin Password:
Specify the password for the LDAP admin whose
distinguished name is specified above.
User Container:
Specify the base LDAP container for users. This is where the
sambaDomain object is stored
Emulate NT4 Domain Controller:
Select this option to enable Samba to emulate an NT4
Primary Domain Controller.

Review the settings. To make a change, click

. To proceed with the installation, click
Next

The Samba advanced installation is now complete. Click
Finish
to proceed to the available
software page. Samba is now listed on the installed software list and can be administered from
the
Samba
administration link.

10.3.1 Creating a Samba User

Open iManager.

In the Roles and Tasks menu on the left, click
Users > Create User
.

Specify user information, then click
OK
.
10.3.2 Creating a Group

In iManager, click
Groups > Create Group
.

Specify the group name and context. The context is the location in the eDirectory tree. The user
should have the same context as the group.

In iManager, click
Passwords > Password Policies

Samba Default Password Policy

Policy Assignment
tab.

Click the
Object Selector
icon.

Assign the password policy to either the Organizational Unit that the user is in or assign it to
the specific user object.
