Installation

Remove all of the cables from the unit.
To disconnect cables, see
“Disconnecting the cables” on page 65
.

If a unit is mounted to the top of another unit, slide that unit forward until it
disengages from the clips on the lower unit. Lift the unit off of the top of the lower
unit.

Lift the unit off of the table.

Set the unit on a flat, clean, static-free surface.

Disconnecting the cables
Use this procedure to disconnect the cables from a BSG8ew/12ew/aw/tw.

Remove the FXO RJ-11 connection.

Remove the FE connections from the LAN ports.

Remove the WAN connection from the WAN ports.

While disconnecting a BSG8ew, rotate the power supply retention clip to free the
power supply cord.

Remove the power supply cord from the unit.

Caution:
Risk of leakage currents
You must disconnect the telephony and data networking cables from the system
before disconnecting the power cord from a grounded outlet.
