Installing the Metro Ethernet Services Unit 1800

10/100BASE-T ports

Table 1

 shows the pin assignments for a 10/100BASE-T port.

Console serial port

The Console serial port is implemented as a DB-9 connector. Default settings for 
this port are 9600 bits/s, 8 data bits, no parity, and one stop bit. 

Connection to TXD and RXD signals and GND is sufficient for the console serial 
port to fully function. The Console port does not support any inbound flow 
control; that is, the port does not toggle control lines to indicate an input buffer 
full condition.
