Manual Verification: Use the same method as for the cell band described in
the TN TX RF
AGC Cell Po (0) section, but set the phone to transmit in PCS on channel 600.
Troubleshooting: Check Robin (N801) according to Tables 1, 4, and 5. Also check D400,
which generates the PDM signals.
TN TX Limiting Po Cell (or PCS) IS95, Low channel (or LowMid, MidLow, Mid,
MidHigh, HighMid, or High channel)
This tuning provides an upper limit on the transmit power while in Cell (or PCS) IS95
mode. The phone is set to transmit and TxdBCtr is adjusted for the maximum transmit
power.
The result is a power level in dBm, which is the maximum allowed. This is done on each
of the seven channels.
Manual Verification: Using Phoenix, set the phone to local mode, then turn on the Cell
(or PCS) transmitter set to each of the channels in the list below.
Using the RF Tuning window, adjust TxdBCtr in the “values” dialog box until the TX power
— measured on the RF connector with a spectrum analyzer — is within the limits on each
of the following channels.
Troubleshooting: If the maximum cannot be reached, either a component in the trans-
mitter has too much loss, or not enough gain. Troubleshoot the Cell (PCS) transmitter,
with the phone set to the same channel as the failed channel.
TN TX Limiting Cell (or PCS) CDMA2000: Po
Same as previous tuning, except that CDMA2000 (C2K) modulation is used instead of
IS95.
Explanation of Result: See previous tuning.
Manual Verification: Same as previous tuning, except choose the CDMA 2000 tuning in
the RF Tuning window.
