IP1220 and IP1260 Security Platforms Installation Guide
To install the battery
1.
Shut down the Nokia IP1200 Series appliance before accessing the motherboard.
2.
Open the chassis and locate the battery on the motherboard. The battery is in a black battery
holder secured with a battery retaining pin.
3.
Remove the old battery. Use a small nonconducting device, such as a plastic probe, to slide
the battery out of the battery holder through the cutout in the holder.
Caution
You must place the new battery into the battery holder observing the correct polarity.
The positive terminal of the battery must be facing up.
4.
With the positive side facing up, slide the new battery through the cutout into the battery
holder. Make sure that the battery is securely installed in the battery holder.
5.
Reassemble the appliance
.
The appliance should start up normally with the new battery installed. If it does not, repeat
Step 1 through Step 6. If the appliance does not start up normally after that, contact your
Nokia service provider.
6.
Reset the appliance date and time information using Nokia Network Voyager or the
command-line interface. You need to do this because the battery is required to maintain the
date and time whenever you shut down the appliance.
