General information

■

Phone functions

The Nokia 6230i phone provides many functions that are practical for daily use, 
such as a calendar, clock, alarm clock, radio, music player, and built-in camera. 
You can personalize your phone with Nokia Xpress-on™ color covers. Your phone 
also supports the following functions:

Enhanced data rates for GSM evolution (EDGE), see "EGPRS," page 53.

Extensible hypertext markup language (XHTML) browser, see "Web," page 78.

Access codes

Security code

The security code (5 to 10 digits) helps to protect your phone against unauthorized 
use. The preset code is 12345. Change the code, and keep the new code secret in 
a safe place separate from your phone. To change the code, and to set the phone 
to request the code, see "Security settings," page 57.

If you enter an incorrect security code five times in succession, the phone ignores 
further entries of the code. Wait for 5 minutes, and enter the code again.

PIN, PIN2, module PIN, and signing PIN codes

The PIN (personal identification number) code (4 to 8 digits) helps to protect your 
SIM card against unauthorized use. The PIN code is usually supplied with the SIM 
card. Set the phone to request the PIN code each time the phone is switched on.
