Brush Motor Carbon Brush Check/Replacement
Check
1.
Remove the brush motor.
2.
At the workbench, remove dust and debris from the motor, especially in the area of the protection clamp
(A).
3. Remove the protection clamp (A).
4. For each carbon brush, move the protection (B) and remove the screws (C).
5. Remove the carbon brushes (D).
6. Check the carbon brushes (D) for wear. Replace the carbon brushes when:
◦ The contact with the motor armature is insufficient,
◦ The carbon brushes are worn,
◦ The carbon brush contact surface is not integral,
◦ The carbon brushes when the stroke residual is less than 0.12 in (3 mm),
◦ The thrust spring is broken, etc.
7.
Replace the carbon brushes as an assembly.
Reset
8.
Assemble the components in the reverse order of disassembly.
