General Information
2.1
General Notes
The machines are only suitable for use with original
nilco
accessories and spare parts. The use of non-
nilco
parts could have an adverse effect on the operation or safety of the machines.
Before using a machine for the first time, ensure that all items have been assembled correctly and are ready
for use.
Do not use a machine if there are any signs of damage to the housings and enclosures (cracks, breaks, etc.),
if the power lead is defective or if an internal defect is suspected (e.g. should the machine have been acci-
dentally dropped).
A machine should only be connected to a mains power supply that matches the voltage stated on the rating
plate.
The socket outlet must be protected by a 16 A miniature automatic circuit-breaker.
No liability will be accepted for damage to a machine arising from misuse, maloperation or
improper servicing or repair.
Never misuse a machine in any way, e.g. by using it as a substitute for steps or as an item of furniture. Al-
ways switch off the machine when work is finished or interrupted.
Use the filters in order to ensure that a machine always functions properly.
Before starting to use a machine, ensure that all the filters have been fitted correctly. A machine must never
be used without filters.
Switch off a machine immediately if any foam or liquid starts to leak from it.
When work is finished, empty the canister and filters and rinse them out with clean water.
Any repairs should be carried out by an approved
nilco
customer service agent (see attached list of service-
adresses). Remember that improper repairs can be dangerous for the user.

Safety Notes
Note the following when using mains-powered machines:
- It can be very dangerous indeed for the operator to damage the power lead of a machine by accidentally
running over it, pinching it, etc.
- The power lead should be examined regularly for any signs of damage or ageing.
- A machine must not be used if the power lead is in unsatisfactory condition
- Never pull the power lead over sharp edges and avoid pinching it.
- The power supply connectors must be at least splashproof.
- Never use an extension lead that is in unsatisfactory condition
- Never pull the connector out of the socket by means of the power lead.
- The mains power lead used with a machine, or as a replacement for the original, must be of identical type to
that specified by the manufacturer and also have adequate mechanical strength:
Always switch off a machine and unplug it from the power supply before carrying out any maintenance or re-
pairs, before changing the filters, before changing any parts, before changing over to a different use and when
work is finished.
Do not store a machine outdoors.
Do not expose a machine to weather or excessive heat.
A machine should only be cleaned with either a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not allow water to come into
contact with the electrical parts of the machine, e.g. switches, plugs, etc.
Never use a machine to clear up hot, incandescent or burning substances.
Never use a machine to clear up large splinters of glass.
Never use a machine to clear up solvents, explosive liquids or gases.
Never bring the nozzles or the open ends of hoses close to anyone's eyes or ears.
Repairs to a machine should only be carried out by approved customer service agents or other properly
trained persons who are fully conversant with all the relevant safety regulations.
2.3
Disposal
Please do not simply discard packaging, used filters and, eventually, the whole worn-out machine but dispose of
everything properly and carefully in accordance with the guidelines laid down by your local authority or other envi-
ronmental protection agency.
Dispose of the packaging materials in the appropriate waste bins so that they can be recycled.
Used filters in their disposal bags should be placed in the appropriate bin for special waste.
When a machine is worn out, disable it immediately and take it to the appropriate waste disposal depot.
