4.2 Start and Stop
4.2.1 Start
The hedge trimmer must be started in a non-slithery and firm place.

Otherwise, it will cause falling.
The hedge trimmer must be started or operated by one (1) person.
*
If it is operated by more than one person, it could be mis-handled, and it could contact
with a person or objects, resulting in accident.
When starting the engine, make sure there is no one or no object on the back.
After pulling the starter, slowly return the starter.

Your elbow could hit other person or object, or the starter mechanism could fail.
Use fuel listed in the manual of engine.

If type of fuel or oil, air-fuel ratio, quantity of oil are not appropriate, the engine could be
damaged.

If the recoil starter is released, the starter will be returned to the original position immediately and cause
injury. When starting the engine, firmly grip the recoil starter grip.
●
Do not grip the rope of recoil starter. Do not release the recoil starter grip until the recoil starter is
rewound by the housing.
If the recoil starter grip is released while returning the recoil starter to the original position, the rope of
the recoil starter or the recoil starter grip could hit the operator, causing injury or damaging the machine.

When the throttle trigger is gripped, the lift up lever will automatically be returned to the RUN position.
When the engine stops after it starts once, start the engine with the lift up lever set at the RUN position.
●
NTP-26H, NTA-26HN, and NTA-35HN are shipped without engine oil. Supply new 4-cycle oil up to the
oil fill hole by referring to the instruction manual for engine.
