1.1 - Safety instructions
• WARNING: - Important safety instructions.  It is important

to follow these instructions to ensure the safety of people

since an incorrect installation may cause serious injury.

Read the instructions carefully before beginning work; in

the event of doubt

ask the Nice Service Centre for clarifica

-

tion.

• WARNING: - Keep these instructions for future product

maintenance and disposal operations.

• WARNING: - All the product installation, collection, pro-

gramming and maintenance operations must be carried out

exclusively by a skilled and qualified technician, in obser

-

vance of local laws, standards, regulations and the instruc-

tions in this manual.

1.2 - Installation warnings

• The necessary information for safe handling of a drive weighing

more then 20 kg. This information shall describe how to use the

handling means, such as hooks and ropes.

• Vertical doors and gates need an anti-drop feature or device.

• Information if a hazardous part of the drive is intended to be

installed at a height of at least 2,5 m above floor level or other

access level.

• Except for horizontally moving pedestrian doors, ensure that

entrapment between the driven part and the surrounding fixed

parts due to the opening movement of the driven part is avoided.

• Before starting installation check whether the product is suitable

for automating your rolling door (read paragraph 3.1). If not suit-

able, do NOT proceed with installation.

• The product installation and maintenance operations must be

performed with the automation mechanism disconnected from

the power mains. As a precaution, before starting to work, put a

sign on the disconnection device that says “ATTENTION! MAINTE-

NANCE IN PROGRESS”.

• Before starting installation, remove all electrical cables that are

unnecessary for the system; deactivate all the mechanisms which

are not necessary for the motorised operation of the rolling door.

• During installation, handle the product with care: avoid crushing,

impact, dropping or contact with liquids of any type; do not drill or

apply screws to the exterior of the motor; never place the product

near sources of heat or expose to naked flames. All these actions

could damage the product and cause malfunctions or hazardous

situations. In these cases, suspend installation immediately and

contact the Nice Service Centre.

• Do not dismantle the product except to perform the operations

described in this manual.

• Do not make any changes to any part of the product except those

reported in this manual. Operations other than as specified can

only cause malfunctions. The manufacturer declines all liability for

damage caused by makeshift modifications to the product.

• When assembling the system, keep people far away from the roll-

ing door when it is moving.

• The product’s packaging materials must be disposed of in full

The chain gearmotors to which this instruction booklet refers

are designed for operating rolling shutters not balanced

with springs or weights. If these products are to be used

for different applications, it is recommended to first discuss

them with the Manufacturer.

The declaration loses its validity if the gearmotor is modified

(e.g. wiring reversal).

• Before commencing the installation, check if the product is suitable

for the de sired type of use. If it is not suitable, DO NOT continue

with the installation.

• The contents of this manual refer to a standard system.

•

All installation and maintenance work must be carried out

with the au to mation system disconnected from the electric-

ity supply.

If the power discon nection device cannot be seen from

where the automation system is po sitioned, then before starting

work a notice must be attached to the disconnection device bear-

ing the words “CAUTION! MAINTENANCE IN PRO GRESS”.

• The Control unit must be connected to an electricity supply line

equipped with protective earthing.

• Handle the product with care during installation, taking care to

avoid crushing, denting or dropping it, or contact with liquids of

any kind. Keep the product away from sources of heat and naked

flames. Failure to observe the above can damage the product, and

increase the risk of danger or malfunction. Should this occur, sus-

pend installation work immediately and contact the Nice Support

Service.

• The electrical power line must be fitted with a device that enables

complete disconnection of the automation from the mains. The dis-

connection device must have a gap between contacts that ensures

complete disconnection in the conditions of overvoltage category

III, in compliance with installation regulations.

• Do  not  modify  any  part  of  the  product.  Prohibited  modifications

can only lead to malfunctions. The manufacturer declines all

responsibility for damage re sulting from unauthorized changes

made to the product.

• If the gate or door being automated has a pedestrian gate, then the

system must include a control device that will inhibit the operation

of the motor when the pedestrian gate is open.

• The product’s packaging material must be disposed of in full com-

pliance with local regulations.

• Post a permanent label or sign on the door containing this picture

(min. height 60 mm).

1.3 - Use warnings

• This product is not intended to be used by persons (including chil-

dren) whose physical, sensorial or mental capacities are reduced,

or who lack the necessary experience or skill, unless suitable

instructions on how to use the product have been given through

the mediation of a person who is responsible for their safety, moni-

toring and the instructions on how to use the product.

• Children must be observed to ensure they do not play with the

automation.

• Do not allow children to play with fixed control devices. Keep

remote (portable) control devices out of reach of children.

• When performing manoeuvres, keep a check on the automation

and keep all people at a safe distance until the movement has

been completed.

• Do not control the automation if in its vicinity there are people

working such as cleaning the glass; unplug it before performing

these works.

• Frequently check the automation for any signs of wear, damage

and off-balance. Do not use the product if it needs to be adjusted

or repaired; contact specialised technical personnel to solve these

problems.
