The Reference Bit parameter tells the R2L how you established the Zero/Home position with
regard to the bit.

Reference Bit Parameter Settings
The reference location you choose to use is up to you and in most cases is a personal
preference based on how you think of the bit location with regard to the fence. All of the
Applications will ‘work’ in either mode. The Applications are based on the center of the bit
reference.
