Poly-Spectrum-8/V (Technical Manual)
24
During ECG recording, the owner must be in sight, because the
examined animal feels safe when the owner is nearby. The
owner can gently stroke the animal or scratch it behind the ear.
It is not allowed to use any sedatives or neuroleptics to calm the
examined animal, because the unreliable results will be dis-
played on the ECG.
Before the ECG recording, it is recommended to perform the
monitoring (for 2
–3 minutes) and make sure that the heart rate
returned to normal and there are no artifacts caused by emo-
tions. Select the
Manual stop
option in the test settings to make
the record long enough to select the cleanest parts of the ECG
signal in the obtained record.
The analyzed part of the record should not be less than 1 mi-
nute. If arrhythmia or ectopic beats are detected, the recording
should be increased to 20
–30 minutes.
