5. Detailed Installation and Configuration
If a red ‘X’ appears in the NetXen 10Gb Ethernet10 Adapter icon, this indicates that the
link is down. If this occurs, check the following:
Verify that the XFP module is installed correctly.
Verify that the card is seated in the PCI slot properly.
Make sure the network cable is connected properly at both ends.
Is a known good cable being used?
Check the XFP module and replace if necessary.
Has an IP address been assigned to the interface?
Refer to Section 10, "Troubleshooting Guidelines" for more information.
To check the status of the connection, right-click on the NetXen 10 Gb NIC adapter icon
above and select properties. This causes the
Local Area Connection
Properties
window
to be displayed.

Properties
