SECTION. 2 GENERAL INFORMATION
2-1 Scope
This instruction manual contains information on the operation and maintenance of the
PCN-1800N series VHF TV transmitter, including information on the separately installed
equipments of the Water pump for cooling.
Information for each units used in this transmitter should be referred to the each of unit
instruction manuals.
2-2 General
The PCN-1800N series VHF TV Transmitter is the latest VHF TV transmitter used for
TV broadcasting.
The major features are as follows.
(1) Easy conversion to digital TX
NEC has come up with a new digitalized exciter that enables easy conversion from
analog to digital through the replacement of software in our newest transmitter series.
(2) High-Performance Exciter
Nonlinear distortions are corrected at the Video stages. Among the nonlinear
parameters are the luminance nonlinear distortion, the differential gain (DG), the
differential phase (DP), and the incidental carrier phase modulation (ICPM). All of
these items are individually corrected.
Higher reliability, performance, and maintainability can be obtained. Also employs
one pedestal AGC circuit and one surface acoustic wave vestigial sideband (SAW
VSB) filter.
