*PORT
*PORT?<CR>
Read Only Command
Response Format:
*PORT=<port name><CR>
This read-only command can be used to read back the LS8500-4 port being accessed with
the *PORT? command request. The <port name> will either be RS232 or ETH/TELNET for
the LS8500-4.
Example:
Command:
*PORT?
Response:
*PORT=RS232
This response indicates that the *PORT command was sent to the LaserSpeed Pro via its
RS232 port.
*ETHERNET
*ETHERNET?<CR>
Read Only Command
Response Format:
*ETHERNET=ENABLED<CR>
This is a read-only command that returns ENABLED. The Ethernet interface is not optional
in the LaserSpeed Pro devices.
*LINK
*LINK?<CR>
Read Only Command
Response Format:
*LINK=<N1>,<N2><CR>
This is a read-only command that returns the status of the Ethernet link and the status of
the DHCP connection. The command returns two values, <N1> and <N2>. The first val-
ue indicates the status of the Ethernet link, and the second value indicates the status of
the DHCP client. If the DHCP option is not currently enabled, the second value can be ig-
nored.
If the Ethernet link is connected and the DHCP client was able to get an address from the
DHCP server, the normal return value is “*LINK=1,5” for the LaserSpeed Pro gauges.
