ACCESSORIES
A number of accessories are available for the iCN 620 In-Car navigation unit.
External or Re-radiating Antennae
GPS signals are mainly transmitted through the windshield, and to a lesser extent, the side and rear windows. If your
vehicle is fitted with an athermic (heat reflecting) or a heated windshield, GPS signals are not able to pass through the
windshield, and therefore the signals getting to the unit are greatly reduced.
There are two options available to ensure that sufficient GPS signal is available to the unit:
External antenna
this antenna is fitted by a magnet to the outside of your vehicle. They are generally installed
on the roof or the boot. The cable attached to the antenna must be plugged into the side of the aerial on the iCN
620 unit. The cable may be threaded through the boot into the vehicle, or through a window.
Re-radiating antenna
an alternative to the external antenna for vehicles
fitted with athermic or heated windshields, or for extra GPS performance in
weak signal areas.
