Connecting the Gas Supply 27
5.1 Gas Pipe Material
WARNING
The boiler m ust be left running for 10 m inutes before
checking the gas pressure, to obtain ther m al e q uilibriu m .
The gas installation pipes m ust be m ade of suitable m aterials
and co m ply with the applicable legislation to this respect.
The gas connection m ust be m ade using a rigid pipe, inserting a
shut-off valve between the boiler and the pressure regulator.
All the pipes m ust be suitably fixed in place.
5.2 Propane Gas Installations (LPG)

Thoroughly check the seal and the drainage of the entire
installation, as a gas leak could cause serious da
m age.
Ɣ I f a propane-fired boiler is installed in an interior roo m
or co m part m ent underground, one side of the building
m ust be open to the exterior.
Ɣ
I f a gas tank is used, it m ust be installed in a cool,
shaded place away fro m direct sunlight. I t m ust also
be thoroughly secured to prevent it fro m tipping over,
which could cause an explosion.
I f the boiler is used with propane, a gas regulator suitable for this
type of gas m ust be installed. The connection and installation
m ust be m ade in accordance with the applicable regulations
and standards at the ti m e of installation.
Note
The output pressure of the pressure regulator m ust be
in accordance with Standard EN 437.
5.3 Measuring the Inlet Gas Pressure
WARNING
The boiler cannot function properly without sufficient inlet
gas pressure.
M easuring the inlet gas pressure should be
perfor m ed by a licensed professional only.
The inlet gas pressure m ust be m aintained between 17 m bar
and 25 m bar for natural gas and between 25 m bar and 35 m bar
for li q uefied propane.
To m easure the inlet gas pressure:
1. Shut off the m anual gas valve on the gas supply line.

2. O pen a hot water faucet. The boiler should turn on and the
gas in the gas supply line will be purged.
