Section 5 System Level Troubleshooting
5.15.1 Control/Display PWB
Replacement
Verify paragraph 5.15 has been completed,
and then perform necessary adjustments
as follows:
(a) Install battery (BT1). Clear the
Events
Log
. Set the
Real-Time Clock
on the
front diagnostic display.
(b) Verify preset parameters and
thresholds are as desired.
(c) Verify Meter Scale Factors are equal to
the factory set values of the original
PWB (see Scale Factor sheet).
NOTE
A paper copy of the Scale Factor sheet is
provided with the Critical Parameters
sheet. The information is provided as a
reference and troubleshooting aid.
(d) Return the transmitter to ‘on-air’
operation.
(e) Press
Control – RF On

5.15.2 Remote Interface PWB
Replacement
Verify paragraph 5.15 has been completed,
and then perform necessary adjustments
as follows:
(a) Ensure jumpers E1 - E21 are set
according to remote control/monitoring
requirements (single ended or
differential input).
(b) Return the transmitter to ‘on-air’
operation.
5.15.3 Interconnect PWB
Replacement
Verify paragraph 5.15 has been completed,
and then perform necessary adjustments
as follows:
NOTE
A special extraction tool is required to
remove wires/cables from the interconnect
PWB connectors. The spares kit, if
purchased, contains a tool (Nautel Part #
HAS69, Vendor # DMC DRK38) for this
purpose. Contact Nautel before attempting
to replace an interconnect PWB.
(a) Ensure dipswitches S1 and S2 are set
for the applicable PWB location as
shown in Table 3-5.
(b) Torque mounting hardware to 6 in-lbs
(0.67 N-m).
(c) Return the transmitter to ‘on-air’
operation.
5.15.4 Miscellaneous PWB
Replacement
Replacement of the following PWBs
requires no testing or adjustment:
•
Fan Distribution PWB (A12)
•
Control/Display Interface PWB (A45A1)
NOTE
All other PWBs and assemblies are part of
sub-assemblies and do not require testing
or adjustment or they are factory set.
5.16 COAXIAL CABLE
REPLACEMENT
Coaxial cables in the transmitter’s RF drive
and power stages are made using specific
material and cut to pre-determined lengths.
If a replacement coaxial cable is required,
contact the factory.
