After installation of all of the software, the
NI-488.2
folder should
contain the items shown in Figure 2-3. The installer places the
NI-488 Config
file in the
Control Panels
folder and the
NI-488 INIT
,
PCCARD_GPIB
,
MacGPIB.shlb
, and
NI-DMA/DSP
files in the
Extensions
folder.

Step 2. Examine or Change the Software Settings
You might want to configure the NI-488.2 software using the
configuration utility. The default settings for the software work for
most applications and devices. However, you might want to change a
device name or primary address.
You can activate the configuration utility by selecting Control Panels
from the Apple Icon menu and selecting NI-488 Config. Use
NI-488 Config
to configure a card as a specific GPIB board, such
as
gpib0
, and place the card in the system at a certain place.
