How do I communicate with serial ENET
interfaces located on other subnets?
Verify that the device is present on the network by pinging the IP
address of your device. Find the directory where ping is installed
and type in the following command:
ping IPaddress
where
IPaddress
is the IP address assigned to your serial device
server.
Confirm that the gateway settings of the device are set properly. To
do this, run the NI Ethernet Device Configuration utility on a
computer on the same subnet as the device.
Confirm that the gateway settings of the host machine are set
properly.
To view your network settings, find the directory where ipconfig is
installed and run it.
If you need more information, you can run ipconfig with the /all
option by typing
ipconfig /all
. This shows all settings for your
machine. Be sure to use the settings for the Ethernet adapter you
are using to communicate with the serial device server.
