4. REMOTE USE
When controlled remotely, the sauna stove and the related control equipment must comply with
the requirements of the standard EN60335-2-53 to remote operation. Even when using compliant
equipment, the user must take into account potential dangers related to remote operation. Before
remote use of the stove, you need to input the PIN code you have chosen in the application. By
entering the PIN code, you confirm and are responsible for that the surroundings of your sauna
and the stove have been checked and that remote starting of the stove is safe. The instructions
provided must be followed and the warnings noted.
- Before starting remote use, it is recommended to heat the stove once locally. Through this, the
values specific to the stove’s heating are stored in its control unit.
- Factory default values are stored in the control unit, but if the stove’s features or installation
deviate significantly from the default values, the stove need not start remotely the first time.
- Remote starting over a mobile device requires downloading of the dedicated application. The
Narvi WiFi application can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or App Store.
Stove control unit settings and connection to network:
- Stove control unit ON. NOTE! The stove will start heating immediately!
- WLAN start: Turns the WiFi module ON and sets it to the STA (Station) mode. In this state, the
module is registered under the home network if the home network profile has been provided in
the AP state. The module starts traffic to the server.
- WLAN close --> Off: Turns off the WiFi module.
- WLAN WPS: Automatically connects the stove to the open WLAN network. For operation, the
WPS feature must also be turned on in the connection target network (router).
- WLAN init: Turns the WiFi module ON and sets it to the AP (Access Point) mode. Creates a
WLAN with the ID NARVI-XXXXX
There are two alternative ways for connecting the stove to the home network:
1. By selecting WPS ON on the home network router (usually a separate button) and then WLAN
WPS on the control unit, the stove will automatically connect to the network.
2. WLAN INIT on the control unit, followed by manually connecting (by mobile phone, for example)
to the WLAN network NARVI-XXXXX created by the stove. After this, the module’s control panel
can be accessed through the device’s web browser at the address 10.123.45.1. Manually make
the data settings as shown below.
- Add a home network (Add profile) from the user interface on the Profiles page: The networks
available are displayed in the drop-down menu; Select Network. Enter the network password
Security Key. In the Profile Priority field, a priority can be entered – for example, 10. After
this, press Add. Addition success is visible under Profiles. Enter the network SSID and
password. (The networks available can be displayed by pressing the radio button). Priority
can also be assigned to this network connection, if required.
- Finally, WLAN START on the control unit.
- The letter R in the bottom right corner of the control unit indicates successful connection to the
network.
- Remember to set the date and clock of the control unit!
