MINIMUM MANTEL AND ENCLOSURE CLEARANCES
Combustible mantel clearance can vary according to the mantel
depth. Use the graph to help evaluate the clearance needed.
Do NOT use the fireplace if any part has been under water.
Call a qualified service technician IMMEDIATELY to have the
fireplace inspected for damage to the electrical circuit.
If access to the control area is necessary BEFORE INSTALLA-
TION, remove the access panel. Located along the right side
of firebox.
The access panel must be re-installed before operating the
unit.
It is necessary to hard wire this fireplace.
Permanently framing the fi replace with an enclosure, requires the
fi replace junction box to be hard wired.
This fi replace must be electrically connected and grounded in ac-
cordance with local codes. In the absence of local codes, use the
current CSA C22.1 CANADIAN ELECTRICAL CODE in Canada or
the ANSI/NFPA 70-1996 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE in the
United States.

IMPORTANT:
The
requires a minimum inside enclosure height of 84”
measured from the bottom of the fi replace.
For temperature requirements, this area must be left unobstructed.
It is recommended that the enclosure be ventilated at the top and
bottom to circulate the hot air with 2, 40” square openings.

* See Venting Section
** Where the vent pipe is contained with the fi replace, within its enclosure, all vertical sections must have a 9” clearance and all horizontal
sections must have a 5” clearance from combustible materials. Where vent pipe exits the enclosure, a 1” clearance from vertical sections
and a 2” clearance from horizontal sections apply.
