TROUBLE SHOOTING
Defects Remedies
The alternator
does not excite
• Replacement fuse.
• Increase the speed by 15%.
• For a moment, apply to the «+»
and «-» of the electronic reg-
ulator a voltage of 12 V from
the battery with a resistance
of 30Ώ in series, respecting the
polarities.
After being excited,
the alternator
does not excite
• Check the connection cables
according to the attached
drawings
Low voltage
at no load
• Reset the voltage potentiom-
eter.
• Check the speed.
• Check the windings
High no-load
voltage
• Reset the voltage potentiom-
eter to zero.
• Replace the regulator
On load, voltage
lower than the
nominal value
• Reset the voltage potentiom-
eter.
• Current too high, power factor
less than 0.8, speed less than
4% of rated speed.
• Replace the regulator.
• Check diodes, disconnect
cables.
On load, voltage
higher than
nominal value
• Reset the voltage potentiom-
eter to zero.
• Replace the regulator
Unstable voltage
• Check the uniformity of the
rotation.
• Adjust the stability of the reg-
ulator by acting on the “STAB.
